Coming To An End

img_1300After the brutal winter this past year and the inevitable aging of us we have decided to  bring our alpaca farm venture to a close.   We will be dispersing our herd and selling the farm.  I was blessed with the opportunity to raise and work with alpacas on a beautiful farm that I will sorely miss.  I came into this without any knowledge of alpacas and have learned so much. Alpacas are a unique livestock. I found them to be funny, quirky, non-aggressive, and individualistic.  They have taught me patience and persistence. I have enjoyed caring for them and would highly recommend them as an animal for children to work with.

Their  fleece is amazing and I’m excited to continue working with it and having the time in the future to create with it.

We will be selling all of the alpacas. I will be offering each animal for sale for $500.00.  I will not sell any of them individually if they are going to an alpacaless home. I strongly believe that alpacas need a “herd” of at least 2 animals to thrive and ideally 3 or more. If you have no alpacas and want to buy one of mine I will work with you to provide a companion suitable for that animal at a reduced price. I will also offer the whole herd as a package of 10 for $4000.00.  All of my animals are registered with ARI and represent some of the original bloodlines imported into the U.S.  Information about each animal will be updated and available under The Herd on the menu or visit our farm at the Suri Network by clicking on the link below.

Our Farm will soon be for listed for sale. We have 27.5 acres of beautiful open rolling hay fields and pasture. There is a 30’ x 40’ steel pole barn with water and electric built in 2015.

There is a 15’ x 20’  utility shed with a metal roof.

The house is a 3-4 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath 2 story home. The kitchen, flooring and bathrooms were all updated in 2014.

The finished walkout basement has a wet bar, family room, office, full bathroom and laundry room and the fourth nonstandard bedroom.

The master suite is on the main floor along with a powder room, the eat-in kitchen with a walk-in pantry, a mud room, living room and dining room.  Off of the kitchen is a door to the deck with stairs down to the patio below.

The upper level has 2 very spacious bedrooms and the 3rd full bath.  Once our home is listed on Realtor I will provide a link to the listing.

I have mixed feelings about leaving our dream behind. They range from sadness to excitement. Just as we were excited to begin our farm chapter we are excited to begin a new chapter. Travel especially in winter to more welcoming climates beckons.

It has been a privilege and honor to have had the opportunity to fulfill one of my dreams. Not many people are that fortunate.  I pray that the next keeper of our farm and animals will be as blessed.
